McCann FitzGerald Advises Sirius Aviation Capital/HPS Investment Partners Joint Venture on the Acquisition of Five Aircraft from BOC Aviation

We advised Sirius Aviation Capital in the establishment of a joint venture with HPS Investment Partners to purchase a portfolio of five aircraft.

The portfolio consists of three Boeing 737 aircraft on lease to Southwest Airlines and two Airbus A320 aircraft on lease to Air New Zealand.  We also advised the joint venture vehicle in its acquisition of these aircraft from BOC Aviation.  This transaction was the second aircraft portfolio acquisition from BOC Aviation by joint venture entities managed by Sirius Aviation Capital where we have advised the purchaser.

HPS is a global investment firm with approximately $69 billion of assets under management.  Sirius’ share of the joint venture was funded by its commitment from its anchor investor, Abu Dhabi Catalyst Partners.

Niall Best and Ciara O’Herlihy advised Sirius on the corporate aspects of this transaction and Joe Fay, Ronan Murphy and Jennifer White advised Sirius and the joint venture vehicle on the aviation aspects of the transaction.  The transaction closed in April 2021.
