Garreth is a Corporate Partner and has overall responsibility for our Company Secretarial and Compliance Group.

Garreth provides corporate law advice to some of Ireland's largest organisations and advises international clients on their activities in Ireland. His practice covers transactional work, such as mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings and reorganisations, joint ventures and commercial contracts. He also undertakes advisory work, advising on private company law issues and corporate governance.

He has recently worked on transactions in the healthcare, telecoms and pharma sectors and on several multi-jurisdictional corporate restructurings.

In 2016, Garreth co-authored Mergers: A Legal and Tax Analysis (published by the Institute of Taxation) which was awarded the Norman Bale Irish Tax Review Article of the year.

Key highlights include advising:

  • IMMAC on obtaining its original footprint in Ireland through its acquisition of Beechfield Care Group and on its subsequent acquisitions of St. Gabriel’s Nursing Home in Raheny, Dublin, Beechpark Nursing Home in Kildare, Woodlands Nursing Home in Meath, Hamilton Park Care Facility in North County Dublin and Bethany Nursing Home in Westmeath.
  • Sherry FitzGerald Group on the sale of 100% of its share capital to CastleGate Investments.
  • McCauley Pharmacy Group on the sale of 37 retail pharmacies to the Uniphar Group.
  • EMI - MR Investments LLC on its acquisition of a 50% shareholding in Shamrock Renewable Products Limited.
  • Hartley & Marks on the disposal of their Paperblanks business to Hachette UK.
  • Grant Thornton on their acquisition of Signature Financial Planning.
  • Vodafone as Irish corporate counsel on an on-going basis in relation to various Irish aspects of its corporate reorganisations and reconstructions. This has included a number of share and asset sales/disposals, due diligence exercises and drafting, negotiation and review of complex corporate contracts. On Project Courtney, which involved the reorganisation of the Irish Vodafone Group including the implementation of 10 Irish domestic mergers under the Companies Act and on the demerger of its Irish towers business into a European mast company, Vantage, in 2020 and in the preparation for the subsequent IPO.
  • Elementum Capital Limited on the sale of their interest in TDS (Time Data Security), a leading provider of smart work-place products including visitor management, to ACRE.
  • Turf Club and the Irish National Hunt Steeplechase Committee on the establishment of Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Company Limited.
  • Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors on the sale of a minority equity interest in the ultimate parent company of Rubicon Infrastructure Advisors to a subsidiary of Assured Guaranty Ltd., a NYSE listed provider of financial guaranty insurance.
  • Ecolab as Irish corporate counsel on a number of its significant Irish corporate transactions.
  • Bristol-Myers Squibb providing ongoing Irish corporate advices.
  • Fuyo General Lease Co., Ltd providing ongoing Irish corporate advices.
