McCann FitzGerald Named Best National Firm for Pro Bono Work at LMG Europe Women in Business Law Awards 2019
McCann FitzGerald has been named as the best national firm for pro bono work at Legal Media Group Europe Women in Business Law Awards 2019. The award celebrates the pro bono activities undertaken by the firm that focus on women and diversity.
During the past year, McCann FitzGerald has partnered with Women’s Aid to provide a legal advice clinic to support women experiencing domestic violence in certain legal proceedings; assisted Action Aid with a legislative mapping exercise as part of its global campaign on ‘Women’s Labour, Decent Work and Public Services’; and commenced a secondment project with the Community Law and Mediation Centre, Coolock, has seen trainees placed part-time with the Centre to assist in its work to support vulnerable individuals.
Speaking on the award win, Barry Devereux, Managing Partner of McCann FitzGerald said:

The awards ceremony took place at The Savoy, London, on Thursday, 13 June 2019.
At last year’s awards Catherine Deane, Partner in McCann FitzGerald’s Aviation and Asset Finance Group, was awarded the ‘Best in Aviation’ award for the second year running, while Deirdre Barnicle, Head of McCann FitzGerald’s Tax Compliance Services Group was awarded the ‘Rising Star: Tax’ award.
