McCann FitzGerald announces five new senior appointments

Premier Irish law firm McCann FitzGerald today announced the appointment of four new partners and a consultant - Jennifer Halpin (Partner - Real Estate), Stuart McCarron (Partner - Corporate Banking), Stephen Proctor (Partner - Construction), Alan Heuston (Partner - Tax), and Elva Carbery (Consultant - Environment and Planning). These appointments bring the total number of partners at McCann FitzGerald to 71. The new partners and consultant are based at the firm’s principal office in Dublin.

About the new partners and consultant:

Jennifer Halpin has been appointed partner in the Real Estate group. Jennifer has advised on both the sell-side and buy-side of a number of large loan portfolio sale transactions. She has extensive experience in advising on the property aspects of secured lending transactions, as well as the sale and purchase of wind farms. Jennifer specialises in advising on sales, purchases and leasing of commercial and residential properties.

Stuart McCarron has been appointed partner in the Corporate Banking Group. He has specialist knowledge of commercial and corporate banking matters across a wide range of industries, with particular experience in acting for lenders and borrowers in relation to banking and debt financing, acquisition financing, mezzanine financing, property financing and syndicated lending.

Stephen Proctor has been appointed partner in the Construction group. Stephen specialises in construction law, advising both the public and private sector on many of the most significant construction and engineering projects in Ireland over the last 10 years. He has particular experience in the construction, operation and maintenance of large scale projects, including agri-food and drink, data centres, transport, life science, water and energy.

Alan Heuston will become partner in the firm's Tax Group in October 2016. Alan is currently Director of Tax in Paddy Power Betfair Plc, responsible for managing the group's tax affairs across multiple jurisdictions. Alan has extensive experience in advising clients on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations, restructurings, migrations, capital markets, financial products, banking, and a wide range of other international and domestic tax matters.

Elva Carbery has been appointed consultant in the firm’s Environment & Planning group. She has advised on planning and environmental aspects of projects at all stages from the pre-planning stage, planning application, construction and completion stage. She qualified with a degree in environmental science and worked with an energy provider as an environmental scientist prior to qualifying as a solicitor.
