McCann FitzGerald advises Doughty Hanson on sale of TV3 to UPC/Liberty Global

We are advising Doughty Hanson and TV3 management on the sale of the TV3 Group to UPC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liberty Global plc.

TV3 is Ireland’s leading commercial television broadcaster. TV3 operates two free-to-air channels in Ireland, TV3 and 3e. TV3 is the number one channel in Ireland after public broadcaster RTÉ1.

The deal remains subject to regulatory approval.

Doughty Hanson is advised by a team led by Philip Andrews and David Byers in collaboration with Skadden. David and Philip had advised Doughty Hanson on its acquisition of TV3 in 2006. A team led by Paul Heffernan is advising TV3 management on the deal.
