Further your career with McCann FitzGerald.  Join a fast-paced Business Development team that manages all aspects of our successful client programmes, we are looking to recruit an experienced executive to work in our tenders and bids team. This role will have responsibility for delivering tenders, bid documents and other supporting collateral to the highest standard across a broad range of legal practice areas.

Recognising that tender responses need to be considered strategically from the outset, this position will work with partners and the Head of Business Development to develop a value proposition suitable for the client in our tender response.

As part of a broader Business Development team, the successful candidate will also contribute to the development and implementation of other client and referral partner strategies, bringing the insights gained from their work on bids and tenders to the process.

The role reports to the Head of Business Development while working directly with Partners and other members of the wider Business Development and Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Strategically evaluate each tender with a view to developing with partners and the Head of BD an appropriate value proposition for the client or prospect concerned;
  • Conceptualisation and design of on-brand client proposals that are compelling and visual, bringing our key messages to life;
  • Project manage the various elements of the submission process including communication and coordination of activities across the firm for each submission process;
  • Draft text and other content for inclusion in submission documents - this may be based on existing precedent or require original drafting (note that legal content will be written by our lawyers);
  • Collaborate with our graphic design team to originate visual supports for inclusion;
  • Post-submission, ensure that a full review and learnings from the process take place including the capture of new content and any other market intelligence;
  • Provide input to the development and implementation of other client and referral partner strategies, bringing the insights gained from your work on bids and tenders into the process; and
  • Manage a central content management system.

This role will also assist with the submission process for key legal directories.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills

  • A strategic thinker who understands the critical importance of bids and tenders to the firm and its broader role in client management;
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally but not necessarily in professional services;
  • Strong writing and editing skills to create compelling and clear communications;
  • Solid project management experience and an ability to manage multiple projects to deadline;
  • Ability to work to deadlines, manage multiple projects and deliver under pressure to a high standard;
  • Attention to detail even when working in a fast-paced, demanding environment;
  • Ability to effectively engage with and influence diverse teams of senior individuals;
  • Ability to work on own initiative, proactive and committed to assignment completion and relationship building;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is essential. Experience using Adobe Indesign a bonus;
  • Experience using Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM systems would be beneficial to track proposals.
